Why a stool?

Because a stool is what you offer someone when the conversation is already going and you want them in it. It isn’t the head of the table. It’s the seat you drag over.

Pull Up a Stool started the way most good things do — standing around a kitchen island long after dinner was over, talking about things that don’t come up at work. We figured if we were going to have those conversations anyway, we might as well hit record.

The show is hosted by Kiki, joined by a rotating cast of friends, family, and the occasional person who happens to be over. Nothing is scripted. The cooking is real, the drinks are real, and the tangents are the point.

We’re recording the first episodes now. If you want to be there from the beginning, the newsletter is the front row.
